We spontaneously decided to go to California to Mike's aunt Marilyn's home that sits right on the beach. The first day was pretty much just travel time getting to California. We went with Mike's sister Lauree's family. The kids had fun switching between vehicles as we drove there and back. When we finally got there we were greeted with dinner. After dinner since we were so close to the beach the kids couldn't resist going down to the beach to get their feet wet in the water.

A Few January Happenings
We took Eliza to the eye doctor for a little check-up. She looks stylin' in these sunglasses they gave her when hey dilated her eyes. The good thing is she doesn't need eye glasses right now.
It is not uncommon for us to find Megan in this situation on top of the counter with something in her hand to eat. It seems she is always climbing on the counter and always looking for something to eat.
I went to my first pregnancy appointment for this baby and was able to see the baby and know there is a healthy baby and heartbeat.
Mike went with a couple of his friends from work to Fishlake to go ice fishing. He caught a nice sized fish (rainbow trout measuring in at about 2 1/2 pounds) and brought it home to grill up. He was very excited because Reece Stein from At Your Leisure interviewed him that day. To see this interview go here https://youtu.be/0NW7a8do9Vg
We have had some great snowfalls this winter and the kids have had a lot of fun playing in the snow.

Tyson is such a joy to have in our family. He is very helpful around the house and with his siblings. He is very caring and so smart. He does very well in school and is a great friend. He loves legos, sports, and playing outside. We love you Tyson and your bright, playful, curious personality.
Happy Birthday Tyson
Tyson turned 7 years old today. I can't believe he has gotten so big. We had a fun day celebrating with him. We woke up and enjoyed donuts and opened presents. He asked for a Hot Wheels mega hauler and track for his hot wheels. That is exactly what he got.
Tyson had a friend party this year. He wanted to play football for his party but it was so cold and snowy we improvised by playing sports games at the stake center gym. The kids played a little football, basketball, and kickball. Then we opened presents and had cupcakes. Tyson was so excited to receive a Nerf football, a basketball, some more hot wheels and Pokemon cards, inflatable boxing gloves, and a remote control motorcycle guy.
At Tyson's party were Kade Tischner, Tristen Thorn, Parker Smyth, Ian and Coy McBride, and Grant Wall.
After the party we went to Del Taco as a family cause Tyson wanted tacos for dinner and then Mike took Tyson to a BYU hockey game which they had a lot of fun watching.

Merry Christmas
This was after "Santa" had come and gone and left all the Christmas surprises for everyone.
Eliza received a wiggle car, playmags, a reading saucer with some books, puzzles an outfit, underwear and socks, the movie Doc Mcstuffins, and other odds and ends in her stocking (princess figures, nailpolish, toothbrush, floss, gum, pez).
Meg received a baby doll with accessories and a high chair. She got some books, puzzles, Housekeeping set, outfits, pjs, socks, and stocking stuffers (hair clips, wand, phone, recorder, candy).
Ty received a couple of lego sets and minifigures, cowboy boots, a watch, outfit, books, underwear, socks, army men, the movie Big Hero 6 and stocking stuffers (pokemon cards, hot wheels cars, toothbrush, floss, gum, candy, tie).
Mom got a Nume curling wand, a Six Sisters stuff recipe book, an outfit and stocking stuffers.
Dad got a foodsaver, pocket knife, tie, and stocking stuffers.
We gave the kids a bunch a play kitchen food and accessories to add to their play kitchen.
Grandma gave each of the grandkids these coin sorters. They were a huge hit on Christmas morning. Our kids spent a lot of time playing with them.
Everyone was happy and enjoyed those gifts they received. We had an enjoyable morning opening and playing with gifts. Then we cleaned up a bit and started on food prep for dinner as Mike's family was coming to stay with us and have Christmas dinner. Merry Christmas!

Christmas Eve
For Christmas Eve we went to Grandma Eppich's house and had a great dinner. The kids portrayed the Christmas story. Tyson was Joseph, Eliza was Mary, and Megan was a "wandering" shepherd.
After the Nativity story the kids opened their new Christmas pajamas. What a bunch of excited kiddos.

Santa Clause
Mike took the kids to the North Pole at 7-peaks where they were able to see Santa Clause. It was a very cold night and the kids weren't too thrilled because it was so cold but they were at least able to see Santa before Christmas was here.
